“Barbarian” storms to the top of the box office on Friday

“Barbarian” is out for blood.

The Zach Cregger-led slasher-in-an-Airbnb thriller made $3.9 million when it debuted on Friday — the top box office draw, which according to BoxOffice Mojo is the summer blockbuster still in many Shown in cinemas, easily surpassed.

According to Variety, $9 million is expected to be raised this weekend.

In second place, grossing $2 million on its debut, was the Hindi language action film Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.

Brad Pitt’s “Bullet Train” took third place with $865,000 in ticket sales. The action film has grossed $90 million domestically and $109.5 million in international theaters.

The Kirk Cameron film “Lifemark” surprisingly took fourth place with sales of $855,466.

The year’s biggest hit, “Top Gun: Maverick,” took fifth place. $845,000. The Tom Cruise-led sequel has now earned $703.3 million domestically and an additional $740.4 million internationally.
