Bandits rob the Bishop of Brooklyn during a livestreamed church service

A conspicuous Brooklyn bishop was robbed in the middle of his live-streamed service on Sunday when armed crooks accosted him at the podium before fleeing with $400,000 worth of jewelry, police officers said.
Assaulted Rolls Royce-driving Bishop Lamor Whitehead last made headlines in May – when he tried to negotiate the surrender of an accused subway gunman, but authorities arrested the suspect separately.
At around 11:14 a.m. Sunday, Whitehead was in the middle of his sermon at the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries in Canarsie when three masked gunmen rushed in, police said.
“How many of you lost your faith because you saw someone else die?” Whitehead asked his congregation just before spotting the armed intruders.
“All right, all right,” Whitehead said several times before hitting the ground on his hands and knees.
According to police, the men took $400,000 worth of jewelry from Whitehead, his wife and possibly churchgoers. Dressed in a maroon suit with a gold-trimmed collar and sleeve cuffs, Whitehead at the time wore a long gold chain and a large ring on each finger.

The robbers fled east on Avenue D after the crime.
Two months ago, Whitehead said he was trying to negotiate the surrender of Andrew Abdullah, 25, in the fatal shooting of Goldman Sachs employee Daniel Enriquez aboard a Q train bound for Manhattan.
Whitehead showed up in the Fifth Precinct in a Rolls Royce to ostensibly herald the surrender, but Abdullah was instead caught by cops at the Legal Aid Society’s Manhattan offices.
