Baltimore County 4th graders star in BET – CBS holiday drama Baltimore

(WJZ) – A nine-year-old from Baltimore County is currently starring in a Christmas movie that just premiered for the holiday season.

Brooke Monroe Conaway is playing Nevaeh in the BET movie Soul Santa.

The film was the first film that a 4th grader was involved in and she was delighted when she was called back to produce.

“It was like one of the best news of my life,” Conaway said.

She plays a girl whose father is running away from the crowd and disguised as Santa Claus at the mall.

For three and a half weeks, she worked on set in Connecticut and learned a lot about the film industry.

“I’m very happy to be in that position because I know I’m a nine-year-old, like a lot of nine-year-olds who don’t,” Conaway said.

Conaway’s parents say they’re proud of her and excited to see her pursue her passion.

The girl’s father, Cornell Conaway, said: ‘This is not something we push her to do. “This is something she loves to do and she’s really good at it.”

Conaway is working on her next movie, and she told WJZ that she will continue to work her way into the industry.

“I plan to continue acting until I am a million years old,” she said.

Soul Santa is available now on BET and can be streamed on BET Plus. Baltimore County 4th graders star in BET – CBS holiday drama Baltimore
