Baby Holly cold case: Woman found alive 40 years after her parents were killed in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Decades after a cold case in Houston, DNA technology has led to the discovery of a woman who has been found alive and well.

The woman, named Holly, is now 42 years old, but she was just a baby when her parents were found dead in a Houston wooded area in 1981.

In 2021, Identifinders International used genetic genealogy to positively identify the bodies as Florida couple Tina Gail Linn Clouse and Harold Dean Clouse Jr.

Baby Holly, as she became known, was not found with the couple’s remains. She disappeared after the murders.

Now, four decades later, she is alive.

According to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, whose newly formed Cold Cases and Missing Persons Division found Holly, she said she was briefed on the identities of her birth parents but was also in touch with her extended birth family and hopes to find them meet human soon.

After Holly’s parents were killed, both the Clouses and the Linns searched for answers as to what happened to Holly and the circumstances of their parents’ deaths.

Paxton said resolving the cold case required crossing state lines, including working with the Lewisville Police Department, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, the Arizona Attorney’s Office, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

“Finding Holly is a godsend for her birthday as we found her on Junior’s birthday. I’ve prayed for answers for more than 40 years and the Lord has revealed some of it…we found Holly,” said Donna Casasanta, Holly’s grandmother.

“After finally being able to reunite with Holly, I dreamed about her and my sister Tina last night. In my dream, Tina was on the floor rolling around and laughing and playing with Holly, as I had seen her many times before she lived with me before she moved to Texas. I think Tina is finally at peace knowing that Holly is reunited with her family. Personally, I’m so relieved to know that Holly is alive and well and well taken care of, but also torn apart by it all. That baby was her life,” said Sherry Linn Green, Holly’s aunt.

The investigation into the cold case is ongoing as questions remain about the homicides.

If anyone has any information regarding the Clouses’ deaths, please email the Texas Attorney General’s Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit.

The Attorney General’s office plans to hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
