Avril Lavigne has redesigned the cover of her album Let go 20 years after publication.
In June 2002, the then 17-year-old Canadian released her debut album. It contained hit singles like “Sk8er Boi” and “Complicated” and topped the UK Albums Chart.
On Tuesday night (June 28), Lavigne shared a clip to TikTok to celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary.
In it, the “Girlfriend” singer returned to the streets of New York, where the album cover was originally shot.
Accompanied by Simple Plan’s “I’m Just A Kid,” the clip shows Lavigne walking out in the middle of the street in a black leather trench coat and her hair dyed red.
The video is then cut to the original Let go album cover.
“20 years later…” Lavigne captioned the video, and Simple Plan himself commented, “This is amazing! Happy 20th anniversary!”
“That’s so impressive!” Her fiancé Mod Sun reiterated, while the top fan comment reads: “Sigh. The good days.”
Last month, the singer announced her plans to step away from music and release a cookbook.
“My food is like gourmet,” she said. “I can do anything! Pasta, sauce, vegan, salads and soups – I can make any kind of soup.”
Lavigne also said other items on her bucket list include writing a Christmas album and launching a makeup line.
