Australian helicopter crashes in forest hour north of Melbourne

A helicopter carrying five people crashed into a densely forested region of Australia on Thursday, a report said.
The helicopter was traveling north in a convoy without another helicopter when it crashed into a densely forested area near Mount Disappointment, about an hour north of Melbourne, around 9:30 a.m., according to 9News.


The two helicopters departed from Melbourne’s CBD, the report said.
Police were unable to enter the site immediately due to the difficult terrain, the outlet said.
Rescuers had to be dropped into the bush by a police helicopter.
According to the report, the second helicopter landed safely.
