ARSENAL are reportedly planning a summer jump to sign Philippe Coutinho.
The attacker fought for life Barcelona since leaving Liverpool for the Nou Camp in 2018.
That led to his return to the Premier League in January to join ex-team-mate Steven Gerrard AstonVilla loaned out for the remainder of the campaign.
The 29-year-old has impressed in England so far.
And that could see Villa decide to turn the deal into a permanent agreement by paying Barcelona £33.57m for the Brazilian.
However now Sports claims Arsenal are preparing a move.
The Spanish publication say Mikel Arteta is studying the possibility of bringing the South American to the Emirates.
Coutinhowho started against the Gunners has played ten games for Gerrard’s side so far.
He has scored four goals and provided three assists in those games while gradually trying to get back to his peak form.
Speaking about the possibility of signing Coutinho on a permanent basis earlier this month, Gerrard said: “It doesn’t make sense for me to make any decisions now.
“When he’s in the right place physically, when he’s comfortable and happy and enjoying his football, we all know we’re dealing with a world-class talent.
“We just have to keep enjoying him, keep him healthy from now until the end of the season and I’m sure he will help us.
“It’s a pleasure to watch him and work with him and see him get back into top form and enjoy his football again.”
