ARSENAL have a staggering more red cards than they have scored in 2022 as they look for their first win of the year.
Mikel ArtetaTheir side have competed five times in all competitions this month, knocking them out of both domestic cups.
The Gunners stunned Nottingham Forest at City Ground like The Champions kits won 1-0 to knock them out of the FA Cup in the third round.
Meanwhile Liverpool beat the North Londoners 2-0 at the Emirates last Thursday in the second leg of the Carabao Cup after a goalless draw in the first match.
And Arsenal have dropped to sixth in the Premier League following a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City and a 0-0 draw with Burnley on Sunday.
It is not surprising that Arteta wants to own a striker when the club is struggling in attack.
Arsenal have scored just once in 2022 thanks to Bukayo Saka’s opener against The Citizens on New Year’s Day.
But they have yet to find the back of the net since after their next four games.

Only Burnley has had fewer shots in the Premier League than Arsenal’s 27, although 20 of those went to the Clarets.
And Arsenal also boast the second-lowest shot-to-shot conversion rate of the 20 teams that have scored just 3.7% of their goals.
They also ranked third for lowest shot accuracy, with only 37% of their shots hitting the target.
And in a state where Arteta would soon want to disappear, Arsenal have had THREE red cards this year.
Gabriel was sent off against Man City, Granit Xhaka was given an early shower at Anfield and Thomas Partey received two yellow cards in the second leg against Liverpool.
No other team in the top English team has received more than 14 red cards Arsenal since Arteta was appointed.
The former Everton midfielder came out on his side last week as he urges them to ‘erase’ their discipline problems on the pitch.
Arsenal fan Piers Morgan believes Arteta’s future at the club will be in doubt if they finish in the top four, although the Spaniard will be offered a new two-year contract.
He say: “Arsenal will end January with more red cards than goals for the month, a damning statistic.
“And spare me all Arteta’s excuses about Covid, injuries and suspensions – every club has the same problem during this pandemic, and eight of his first-choice XI have play on Sunday.
“As for his penchant for the ineffective use of the punitive sword, the time is fast approaching when it might need to be used on him.
“For all his tough words and the bull” trusts the endless “**** process, Arteta has so far been a glaring defeat at Arsenal.
“He’s been in charge for two years and 114 games – and has a win record of just 53%, less than Wenger, who had a terrible decade, and Unai Emery.”
Before adding: “If we are not in the top four this season, and even that ‘achievement’ seems a low ambition for a club that is supposed to be big, then he should not be promoted. salary, he should be fired.”
