ARSENAL have been fined £20,000 for losing their heads following Manchester City’s controversial penalty at the weekend.
Angry Gunners players surround referee Stuart Attwell after he awarded City the equalizer after being asked to watch Granit Xhaka’s collision with Bernardo Silva on a side screen.
Players from both sides engage in a shove and shove after the decision is changed.
Xhaka, who was being blown for a penalty, told the referee he should watch it again after seeing the incident replayed on giant screens at the Emirates.
Arsenal’s players, including Gabriel, attempted to take the penalty, although Riyad Mahrez still conceded a home goal.
But the Gunners have accepted being charged with failing to ensure their players proceed in an orderly manner under FA Rule E20.1 and have received the standard penalty.
The FA are still considering action after City’s mainstay Rodri and his team-mates were hit by rockets while celebrating his stoppage-time goal.
