Apex Legends Taxi streamer unbanned, but Respawn still hasn’t fixed the issue, he got banned because

Popular Apex Legends streamer Svend-Erik ‘Taxi2g’ Høegh is about to be freed by Respawn, returning to battle royale. He was banned for abusing the ‘ult dash’ glitch to fly around the map — a bug that hasn’t been fixed since his return.

A month-long taxi ban for Apex Legends will end soon — at least that’s what he said based on messages between him and Respawn anti-cheat developer Conor ‘Hideouts’ Ford.

However, a motion glitch that got him banned from Respawn’s Battle Royale title persists in the game.

Høegh has been banned from the stream for abuse ‘ult dash’ glitch witnessed him fly past the Apex Games at supersonic speeds. He was subsequently banned multiple times on new accounts as he tried to evade his ban, with Respawn chasing him each time.

The glitch works by starting the Ultimate animation, pressing the melee key, then swapping weapons. It not only works with Caustic —who Taxi primarily uses it on —but also Bangalore, Gibraltar, and anyone with an ultimate that can be deployed like that.

What was the first thing Taxi did when he was banned? Check for malfunctions; and the funny thing is that after jumping into Firing Range, it persists in Season 12.

He doesn’t actually jump into any games on his stream (his ban has yet to be lifted), instead choosing to fly around like Pathfinder to initiate his moves. However, he’s found some of his signature mechanics to feel a bit off.

“How do you play this game,” he joked after coming back. “This game sucks. You can touch the screens, but they have completely destroyed the air containment system.”

Nor is he worried about getting banned again, even if he does start pushing Apex Legends’ move limits.

The taxi ban will expire on February 12, a few days after Part 12 launch.
