The most used legends in Apex Legends Season 12
The battle for supremacy in Apex Legends Season 12 Defiance continues, but some things don’t change octane and spook currently at the top as usual.
As with the launch of most new seasons of Apex, the New Legend, Mad Maggie entered the fight strong with double digit pick rates. But now that the season is progressing, their selection rate continues to drop. A few weeks into the season she has dropped to 14th place and is only at a low level 2.8% pick rate.
Valkyrie is proving feisty for now, staying steadfast in 5th place and showing that she’s clearly become a fan favorite. While some of the other top spots are currently occupied by long-time player favourites.
The chart above shows the evolution of pick rates since May 2021 – Horizon has picked up slightly thanks to her buffs in Season 10, while Bloodhound has bounced back from her slight drop after Seer’s introduction to become the de facto Recon character.
Since Wattson’s massive buff, she’s climbed a few spots in the ranks and is no longer the least-chosen Legend in the game. That honor now belongs to Rampart.
Loba’s pick rate has slowly increased thanks to her bracelet buffs, putting her in the top half of the list.
Most played Apex Legends characters
As mentioned earlier, a higher pick rate doesn’t always mean a more effective Legend, but in the game’s current build, the same few characters have been occupying the top four for a while. Here are the most played Legends in Season 11.
5. Valkyrie – 8%
When you’re cornered or in a desperate position, having a Valkyrie in your squad can be crucial. Also, when you need to spin and get out of a bad spot, having Valkyries Skyward Dive Ultimate is incredibly useful.
This will be a big reason why she has one 8th% Pick rate in Apex Legends Season 12, plus a hefty salvo of rockets won’t hurt either.
4th Boy Scouts – 8.8%
While Pathfinder is nowhere as effective as it was in its prime, it still manages to be the best mobility-based Legend in Apex Legends with one 8.8% pick rate. Since Season 5, Respawn has further tweaked Pathfinder’s abilities, giving other scouts (Bloodhound, Seer, Crypto & Valkyrie) its original ability to scout for upcoming ring locations.
Though these events have reduced his overall effectiveness, he still manages to be one of the most picked characters in Apex.
3. Bloodhound – 10.8%
While Seer earned the title of Best Recon Legend early on in Season 10, that time was short-lived. Bloodhound is an irreplaceable legend thanks to her “Eye of the Allfather” tactical ability, providing any team with unparalleled tracking and intelligence. This is a major reason why Bloodhound is healthy 10.8% Pick rate in Apex Season 12.
Not only that, Beast of the Hunt is an excellent traversal technique, especially when you need to outrun the storm.
2. Ghost – 12.2%
Wraith was the face of the game at launch, and it’s easy to see why. Her abilities have yet to be replaced or challenged as her portal allows for smooth and strategic rotations. Alongside their phase, you can take more risks and still retire with your life intact.
She’s tinkered around a bit, like removing the low-profile attribute in Season 9, but she remains as deadly as ever in the current state of the game. No proof of this is as clear and obvious as they are 12.2% pick rate. This leaves them currently as the second most common legend in Repsawn’s Battle Royale.
1. Octane number -12.5%
Octane is a consistently high-level Legend in Apex, despite the nerfs he’s received since the game’s release. His easy-to-use and highly effective abilities make for great solo play, but also mean he fits perfectly into team-based games.
Since the release of Season 12, he’s climbed back up to number one with a whopping toss 12.5% Pick Rate Percentage.
Octane has been a fan favorite in many recent seasons of Apex Legends and remains popular with pros and Twitch streamers. This could explain why he still has such a high pick rate.
So there you have it – the top played Legends and their pick rates in Apex Legends Season 12.
