ANTONIO CONTE has refused to sign at Tottenham beyond the end of the season.
But the Italian lashed out at “fake news” reports that suggested he is ready to take over at Paris Saint-Germain.
Once the campaign is complete, he plans to hold talks with chairman Daniel Levy and football’s chief executive Fabio Paratici to work out “the best solution” going forward.
Still ambitious Conte who won the Premier League with him Chelsea 2017 and Series A with Inter Milan He also warned last season that he felt he “deserved it”, fighting for “a lot more” than just trying to qualify for Europe.
The 52-year-old said: “At this moment our thoughts, me, the club and the players must be focused on the last five games.
“I’ve said many times that we talk to the club at the end of the season, but gladly, in a really good way.
“To talk and try to find the best solution for everyone. That must be clear, that.
“I repeat, don’t forget that I like to have ambitions, not just fighting for a place in the Champions League or a place in the Europa League.
“I think, honestly, I want to fight for a lot more, you know? For much more. I also think I deserve to do this.”
Conte clearly seems happier than he was in north London a few months ago, having revived their season into one that could end in Champions League qualification.
But meeting Levy and Paratici – with whom he claimed to have a “fantastic relationship” – at the end of the campaign will be crucial when Conte assesses whether the club’s ambitions align with his.
the previous juventus Chieftain would like up to SIX signings over the summer, with a left centre-back and new full-back having priority positions to reinforce.
He added: “Our ambitions for the future would be very important because I think I deserve to try and fight for trophies and win them.
“And to fight for something important, not just sixth or seventh, eighth place or, if you’re having a fantastic season, fourth place.
“But I repeat, this is my ambition and it is important to understand and fully deliver on the ambition at the time we need it.”
Conte knows if Spurs win their last five games they will finish in the top four, starting with Leicester at home tomorrow in what will be his 100th Premier League game as manager.
Hosting Arsenal on 12 May could well be the determining factor in which of the north London clubs clinch the last place in the Champions League.
A move to PSG would have guaranteed Conte would compete in elite European club competition next season.
But the Spurs boss made his position on speculation from France very clear that he was ready to take on the job.
He said: “Of course I think it’s good that other clubs appreciate my work. That’s one thing.
“But the truth is I don’t like it when people try to make up news – just to talk, just to create problems.
“It’s not right, it’s not fair for me, for the clubs involved and for my players.
“Also because we are very focused on those five games to get a fantastic result for us. I repeat, this kind of situation makes me smile.
I’m really enjoying it at Tottenham. For this reason we will have a private meeting and try to find the best solution.
“But I think that even the people who want to talk about it have to show respect for all the people involved in this situation and not make up fake news and tell a lot of lies.”
Conte was advised he would end all talks about his future by simply pledging to be at Spurs next season.
When asked why he couldn’t do that, he replied: “I think it’s important at this moment to be focused.
“I’ve been asked that many times and I’ve already answered it.
“If you go back, my answer is always the same and my answer is still the same, having a different answer is of no use to anyone.
“I’ve always answered that question in the past.
“My opinion hasn’t changed, my thoughts haven’t changed, my ambition hasn’t changed. i am the same
“What I have said in the past was the truth. We’re trying to make this season as good as possible and then we’ll see.
“I’m really enjoying Tottenham. For this reason we will have a private meeting and try to find the best solution.”
