Anne Hegerty’s Beat The Chasers replacement revealed

THE Chase star Anne Hegerty has been replaced at Beat The Chasers – and now her replacement has been revealed.

Issa ‘The Supernerd’ Schultz is taking over from The Governess, who was forced out of filming after catching Covid.

He is a chaser in the Australian version of The Chase but has never starred in the UK series.

Although 38-year-old Issa is a freshman, as an eight-time winner of the Australian Quizzing Championships he will be tough competition for players.

He has also participated in The Rich List and the Down Under version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

Fan favorite Anne – who starred in I’m A Celebrity – announced last week that she was replaced in the upcoming series by Beat The Chasers.

The 63-year-old quizzer tweeted: “Unfortunately I have contracted Covid-19 so I will not be filming this series of #BeatTheChasers.”

Anne added: “The amazing @Issa25 will fill in for me and I look forward to watching the series when it airs later this year.

“I’m feeling good, but I’m still positive! (in every way).”

Reassuring fans who said they wouldn’t want to watch if Anne wasn’t on the show, she tweeted, “You should definitely check it out, it’s going to feature six SUPERB hunters.”

Of her replacement, she said, “Issa is a real chaser and has already recorded BTC in Australia so he knows what he’s doing.”

Issa, a bow tie wearing quizzer, is well known to both Anne and Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett as they also appear in the Australian edition of The Chase.

Although he has lived in Australia since childhood, Issa was born in St Austell, Cornwall and moved to Queensland with his family in the 1980s.

Meanwhile, Mark has posted pictures of himself filming new episodes of Beat The Chasers after revealing he’s been cut from the US version.

He posted a picture of him and Shaun ‘Dark Destroyer’ Wallace on the set of the show in their normal clothes.

The star wrote, “Scared, very scared :)” tagging his 61-year-old co-star.
