Anne Heche’s manner of death was classified as an accident.

The 53-year-old actress died from complications from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner.

A “fractured sternum from blunt trauma” — which often occurs when a crash victim’s chest hits the steering wheel — was another “significant condition” after her car crashed into a Los Angeles home on Aug. 5.

Video of the destroyed home shows firefighters working inside the debris-filled shell of the Mar Vista home after the actress’ crash sparked a massive fire that took nearly 60 firefighters more than an hour to fight.

“I was convinced that she was burned and gone,” David Manpearl, who lives nearby and was first to the scene, told the Post on Saturday. “I couldn’t imagine anyone surviving that.”

Heche died on August 12 and her family took life support from her Sunday after the ‘Six Days Seven Nights’ star was involved in the violent car crash in Los Angeles earlier this month. Her rep stated that she was “brain dead” — which can be defined as death under California law.

Heche – who was previously reported to be under the influence of cocaine and possibly fentanyl – was driving her Mini Cooper when she slammed into an apartment complex’s garage, leaving behind a devastating scene and a building that has been declared unsafe.

The actress, a star of NBC drama The Brave, never regained consciousness after suffering horrific burns in the crash. According to her spokesman, she had been placed on life support to preserve her organs for donation.

After Heche’s death, the Los Angeles Police Department decided not to pursue the investigation into the mishap.

“As of today, no further investigative efforts are being made in this case,” the department said on Saturday. “Any information or records requested prior to this turn of events will continue to be collected for the sake of formality as it arrives and will be included in the overall case.

“If a person suspected of a crime expires, we do not present them for examination,” they added.

Before her death, the actress was under investigation for hit-and-run and drunk driving after tests allegedly showed she had cocaine in her system at the time of the crash. Anne Heche’s official cause of death decision announced
