And Just Like That is officially getting a second season

Controversial was the “Sex and the City” spinoff series “And Just Like That”. extended for season 2.

Ramirez’s character, Che Diaz, a queer non-binary podcaster-comedian, became the Theme memes and online hate after starting a relationship with Miranda. Fans were particularly outraged by a scene where Che and Miranda get hot and fierce in Carrie’s kitchen – Carrie has to fend for herself while she recovers from surgery and needs Miranda’s help to go to the bathroom.

“What did I just see?” viewer and podcast host Ryan Bailey said of the infamous scene. “Have someone [get intimate with] a character we grew up with, before Carrie…is just so extreme,” he said said the post. “And that’s Carrie’s boss! There are so many boundaries that are crossed. It’s wild.”

Season 1 ended with Miranda is leaving NYC and moving to LA for Che, which seems like a bad idea, but that remains to be seen in season 2. Carrie shared a hickey with her silver fox colleague Franklyn (Ivan Hernandez).

“I’m thrilled and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters – played by these powerful, amazing actors,” executive producer Michael Patrick King said in the HBO Max press release. “The fact is, we all are excited. ‘And just like that…’ our sex life is back.”

Co-produced and co-written by Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky, And Just Like That… season 2 has not yet had a premiere date announced.
