Netflix users scoff Anatomy of a Scandal after a scene from the show went viral online.

The new series, which was released on Friday (April 15), follows Tory MP and Immigration Secretary James Whitehouse (Rupert Friend) following revelations that he is leaving his wife Sophie (Sienna Miller) with his parliamentary assistant Olivia (Aladdinby Naomi Scott).

However, James’ situation quickly turns serious when he is accused of rape.

The scene where James discovers the allegation is the one highlighted and posted on social media.

It shows him flying backwards in slow motion after hearing the message as if he had been struck by an unseen force. The scene, directed by SJ Clarkson, is designed to reflect an invisible gut punch.

Many viewers shared the scene in disbelief on Twitter. Tweeter @AliArikan wrote: “Anatomy of a Scandal is creepy and hilarious. This is how the first episode ends.”

A viewer replied, “I… wasn’t expecting that. Almost spat out my food in the break room.”

Another person who watched the show added: “The end of the first episode of Anatomy of a Scandal is stupid as s***, what was that.”
