An ax-wielding wingnut runs amok in the Bronx McDonald’s

It was a Big Mac attack!

An ax-wielding wingnut ran amok at a McDonald’s on Delancey Street, terrorizing patrons and causing thousands of dollars worth of property damage, officials said.

What started as a nothing burger — a 2:25 a.m. argument between suspect Michael Palacios, 31, of the Bronx, and three other men — escalated into a killing spree.

The three men punched a grinning Palacios, who is then seen on video putting his right arm to his head before calmly walking to his backpack, where he draws an ax and then threatens his fighters and terrified patrons.

“Brother, please! You better chill!” a man told him. A mad Palacios then approached a stunned woman with the ax and shouted, “Don’t be afraid of me, fear him!”

Nobody loved early Friday’s episode, which was recorded on TikTok by user Shakes McGoo, who snarled, “NYC is always good for chaotic chaos. He didn’t hurt anyone but could have been ugly!”

“That’s why I have my knife with me all the time,” complained one of the viewers who recorded the incident.

Palacios refused to speak when reached by The Post on Saturday, claiming “it all came very suddenly,” before quickly offering up his Instagram name @ontheblockwithsoho, where he had posted about the outbreak and boasted that it had received 12 million views.

One commenter quipped about Palacios’ post on the ax drama: “Lmaooo Mike had a fight?”

And another snapped “@ontheblockwithsoho n–a why you go stupid like this on the Bowery” followed by three laughing emojis.

Late in the afternoon, Palacios was enjoying a kind of twisted fame. Social media had already dubbed him “the axeman.”

No one was injured in the incident, police said. Palacios, who had a criminal record for resisting arrest, was charged with criminal mischief and three counts of making threats and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

On Saturday, the McDonald’s in Delancey looked like nothing had happened apart from the hole in the wall next to the bathroom.

The off-kilter episode caught the attention of gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin, who tweeted, “Just another day in Kathy Hochul’s New York. After firing Hochul on November 8th, we’re taking back our streets!”

There must be something in the legendary restaurant’s secret sauce that has people crossing the menu.

In July, a McDonald’s employee in Brooklyn was pepper sprayed in what appeared to be an attempted robbery.

Last month, an argument over cold fries led to the shooting of a McDonald’s employee in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
