Alicia Vikander has spoken of her unease about filming sex scenes, calling them “the worst thing ever”.

Appears on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar On May 10, the Swedish actress admitted that she finds intimate filming difficult and uncomfortable.

“The only thing that can’t be improvised is an intimate scene — you have to choreograph it and stick to it,” she said.

“It’s the worst thing ever filming those scenes.”

In the same interview, Vikander spoke about times when she felt vulnerable on set: “I’ve been in situations that weren’t okay, where I didn’t feel protected.”

She continued, “They have an actor who sits there naked for a couple of hours… someone was supposed to come in a robe and they don’t… that wasn’t right. I should have been taken care of.

“I’m very comfortable with my body and I’ve done quite a lot of nude and sex scenes, but it’s never easy.”

She also addressed the glamor surrounding show business, calling it an “illusion of what the industry is … It’s four months of a bunch of strangers working 15 hours a day, six days a week and not sleeping.”

Vikander’s comments on sex scenes are similar to those she made with her in a 2019 interview The Independent, in which she described them as “the most uncomfortable thing to do”.
