Adult MultiVersus Language: Which Characters Curse and Swear?

Many MultiVersus Players are confused by the adult language checkbox that appears in the game’s audio settings. Given that most of the characters in the game are from G (or PG) rated productions, what exactly does powering up do and what does “mature language” really mean?

What characters are affected by the adult language setting in MultiVersus?

So far we have confirmed that two characters in MultiVersus are affected by the adult setting:

While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, we wouldn’t be surprised if Rick and Morty also get some new voicelines when Mature Language activates.

Here are some of the lines that will be added:

Harley Quinn:

  • Slut!
  • Holy Shitburgers!
  • That was bad!

Batman:

  • Computer, log this under “very badass”.
  • how much shit (Maybe I’m hearing that wrong).

Aside from those five lines spread across two characters, we didn’t hear any other characters say anything out of the ordinary. As we said above, Rick and Morty could pull out the big guns for the mature language setting, but right now the on/off difference is relatively small.

However, there were some supposedly leaked and datamined characters that might bring some harsh language, such as:

  • bug juice
  • Daenerys Targaryen
  • The joker
  • crazy max
  • Neo
  • Poisonous Ivy
  • Scorpio
  • Under zero

Warner Bros. has the rights to a lot of characters, so we wouldn’t be surprised if some turned up swearing and vowing a storm. The game is rated T (Teen) by the ESRB, so there’s quite a bit of room for wacky voice acting. We don’t know how many F-bombs will be dropped, but we’ll likely see a good mix of asses, motherfuckers, bastards, damned, and other PG-13 rated words. Rick and Morty is due out next week, so we’ll have a chance to see just how mature the language and multiverse can become.
