Adele’s ’30’ goal for second week at number 1 in UK – Billboard

Adele is aiming for a double second straight chart in the UK, as her record-breaking album 30 (Columbia) took pole position in the race for No. 1.

The London singer’s fourth album topped the midweek chart, as reported by the OCC, before Westlife’s new attempt Wild dreams (East West/Rhino), is on track to take 2nd place as it will be the veteran Irish boy band’s 14th UK Top 10 appearance.

Last week, 30 topped the UK Official Albums chart, achieving the fastest sales for any album this year and the highest first week total for a female album in that territory since Adele. 25 in 2015.

Have a Merry Christmas in this week’s chart update. Furthermore in the midweek tally, Take it Gary Barlow pursuing my fifth Top 10 effort with Dream of Christmas (Polydor), ranked 4th; when By Michael Buble Classic Holidays Christmas (Replay) Elevator 17-7.

On the UK singles chart, Adele maintained the score 1-2 with “Easy On Me” and “I Drink Wine”, while Mariah Carey’s Christmas favorite “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (Columbia) strengthens the chart, March 25.
