Activision Jobs List Reveals Call of Duty ‘CoD 2.0’ Subscription Plans

Activision appears to be gearing up to release a Call of Duty subscription model to follow Fortnite Battle Royale, GTA, and World of Warcraft.

Just days after Rockstar Games launched its new GTA+ service, a new job posting from Activision is promoting an “excellent” opportunity for an influencer marketing manager.

The role that was posted to hers official career site looking for someone based in Santa Monica or in the greater Los Angeles area this March.

Call of Duty 2.0 Service Revealed in Job Ad

At first glance it may seem like a position as part of the larger machine, but some of the wording will be of interest to Call of Duty players.

It states: “2022 is an outstanding opportunity for Call of Duty (CoD), with an extraordinary array of innovations in curated player experiences, cross-platform gameplay, subscription-based content, mobile game development and a shift to Always On community and player connectivity.

“We call this ‘CoD 2.0’. And in the era of CoD 2.0, this leader will authentically expand the CoD brand in a way that resonates with regular audiences and excites and delights new ones; they will add cultural fuel to CoD marketing overall; They will expand and give meaning to CoD’s creative ideas.”
