‘Active Shooter’ can deal 1 damage outside of Collection Targets at the RiverPark center in Oxnard, California
One person was injured after a shooting was reported outside a Target in north Oxnard, police said.
The incident was reported just before 3 p.m. Friday near The Collection department store at RiverPark shopping mall.
Oxnard Police Chief Marc Amon said there is one confirmed victim.
The victim, a 31-year-old male, was taken to Ventura County Medical Center by ambulance.
The man is undergoing surgery but it is not clear what his condition is or if his injuries are life-threatening.
The shooting may have taken place near the southwest corner of the parking lot, according to radio information from the scene.
By 3:15 p.m., the location was clear, Amon said.
Authorities are looking for suspicious vehicles.
According to preliminary reports, the shooting could have been caused by a road rage incident but Amon said that has yet to be confirmed.
