The revival of the limited series inspired by Elmore Leonard’s Primeval City: Midday Rush in Detroit Back to the World was first introduced in the 2010s series Reasonable. Dave Andron and Michael Dinner are attached as hosts, writers, and executive producers with Dinner also serving as directors.
Olyphant also serves as an executive producer alongside Graham Yost, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Peter Leonard, and writers Taylor Elmore and Chris Provenzano. Meanwhile, Walter Mosley is a consulting producer, and VJ Boyd, Eisa Davis, and Ingrid Escajeda are writers. Base: City Primeval will be produced by Sony Pictures Television and FX Productions.

In the new series, after leaving Kentucky eight years ago, Raylan Givens now lives in Miami, where he balances his life as a US Marshal with part-time fathering to a 14-year-old girl . With gray hair and a dirtier hat, the road ahead of Raylan was now shorter than the road behind.
When a chance encounter on a Florida highway leads him to Detroit, he crosses the road with Clement Mansell, aka the Oklahoma Wilderness, a violent gangster and daredevil who passed the arms of law enforcement and wanted to do it again.
Meanwhile, Mansell’s attorney Carolyn Wilder, a native of Motor City, plans to represent her client even as she’s caught between police and crime, with her own game playing takes place. Together, these three characters begin a collision course to see who makes it through Primeval City survive.
Reasonable ran for six seasons on FX from 2010 to 2015 and won several awards during its broadcast. The original series is based on another work by Elmore Leonard, Fire. Stay tuned to see how this latest work comes together Primeval City on FX.
