A newly released video shows an Alabama murder inmate escaping with a prison guard

A newly released surveillance video shows one Alabama Correctional officer helps an inmate serving a 75-year sentence escape from prison.

That police have now confirmed officer Vicky White and inmate Casey White – who disappeared together almost a week ago – had a “special relationship”.

Video shows the two leaving the prison on April 29 while the officer held the door open for Mr White, who is seen handcuffed and shackled.

Ms. White was scheduled to transport the inmate out of the Lauderdale County jail, police said.

investigator have now started a search for Vicky White, 56, and Casey White, 38.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton told local media investigators found evidence the two shared a “special relationship.” However, he added that it couldn’t be “physical” based on surveillance video analyzed by police.

“We have uncovered some evidence that confirms there was a relationship outside of their working hours,” Mr Singleton said. “I’m not talking about a physical relationship. But there was contact between the two outside of their working hours.”

Mr White, the inmate, is serving a 75-year sentence and Ms White – the two are not related – has won four-time staffer of the year awards.

Now the Alabama Correctional Officer has issued an arrest warrant in her name and is accused of allowing Mr White to escape and helping him.

“Everyone loved her — nobody, nobody ever had anything good to say about Vicky,” former Lauderdale County inmate John McCulloch was quoted as saying by NBC News. “Never heard a bad word about her.”

It was also reported that Ms White had sold her home – well below market value – just days before she and the inmate disappeared.

CNN reported that she had also announced plans to retire as deputy director of corrections. Police said Wednesday that her pension papers were pending and she was no longer employed by the county sheriff’s office.

Reports of their love affair surfaced one after another inmates also told investigators that Casey White “got extra food on his trays” and “gained privileges no one else had.” And it all came from her.”

Meanwhile, Mr Singleton said Casey White was “an extremely dangerous person” and also warned people not to approach him if they see him and call the police instead.

Investigators say Mr White may be armed in the same way Vicky White was armed. The US Marshals Service warned Tuesday they may have an AR-15 rifle and shotgun. A newly released video shows an Alabama murder inmate escaping with a prison guard
