A man was dismembered in an unprovoked attack at the Manhattan subway station

A 27-year-old man was cut in the face in an unprovoked attack at an upper Manhattan subway station on Tuesday night, police officers said.
The victim was standing on the mezzanine floor of the No. 1 168th Street-Washington Heights train station around 6:30 p.m. when the male suspect slashed him, police said.
The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital, where his condition was stable.

The attacker fled the scene, police said.
The random attack came amid a spate of underground crime — including two incidents early Tuesday where a man was beaten with a bottle and another slashed in the left hand and forearm.
