A 21-year-old woman dies after her car overturns in an accident on US 1 near Holly Springs

NEW HILL, NC (WNCN) — A young woman died in a single-vehicle crash in Wake County Sunday afternoon, officials said.
The wreckage was reported just before 4 p.m. along the north lanes of US 1 near New Hill Holleman Road, which is west of Holly Springs, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The accident happened when a woman drove her car into a guardrail on US 1. The car overturned during the accident and the young woman was thrown out.
Officials said the victim was 21 years old.
The woman was the only person involved in the wreck.
State police are investigating the cause of the collision. The woman’s name was not released.
