90 day fiance Season 9 gives us to see six new couples as they navigate the waters of an international relationship. Many viewers find some of the pairings odd, as there are often significant age differences, language barriers, and more. Kara and Guillermo have one of the smaller age gaps fans have seen on the show, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an issue for the couple themselves.

Guillermo and Kara Met while waiting tables in a restaurant in the Dominican Republic. Kara had recently moved to work there. In the premiere episode of 90 day fiance In Season 9, Kara explained how her co-worker joked about how young Guillermo looked.
Kara said that 90 day fiance Producers: “I was literally just sitting at a table with my computer working with my colleague when this waiter strolled over to our table and said, ‘Ladies, it’s tequila time!’ I said, ‘Damn, he’s cute.'” The Virginia native continued, “You [Kara’s colleague] thought he was like a little boy, which he probably was, but he’s a beautiful little boy. I mean, he was 21. It was definitely legal.”

Kara’s jokes about Guillermo’s age upset the Venezuelan native
On the April 24 episode of 90 day fiance, Guillermo surprised Kara by inviting some of her friends over for dinner before moving to the United States. These included Guillermo’s older brother Christopher, who commented on Guillermo’s age.
“What worries me about my brother being there is that my brother is just a kid. I mean he’s only 23 years old. And I don’t know how he gets along with Kara’s friends,” Christopher said 90 day fiance cameras.
In another scene, Christopher joked about the age difference between Kara and Guillermo. He even told Kara that he was surprised she wasn’t dating an older man. However, Kara laughed at the comment and confessed that she was a “proud sugar momma”.
The discussion about Guillermo’s age irritated him. He made sure to point out that he wasn’t a “sugar baby.” He also added that he would not marry Kara to move to the United States. But it was Kara’s next joke that got under Guillermo’s skin.

Kara tried to explain why she laughed at people’s jokes about Guillermo’s age. She said: “It’s just a joke because all my friends have husbands who are older and they’re like, ‘Kara likes boys. She wants a toddler. Cradle Raider.’ Because it’s funny.”
After telling Kara that he didn’t like it when she made jokes about his age, he also explained, “Calling me a toddler or like a little kid is so ridiculous. It pisses me off. I totally understand when my brother teases me, but my fiancee should respect me. I know that when I move to America with her it will be a bit more difficult at first because everything will be so new to me and I will probably need her to take care of myself. But the most important thing I need from her is respect and to treat me as a man.”
