SOME think it’s a game of chance, others swear it’s their chance to get rich – but either way, seven numbers could change your life.
And it turns out that if you want to win big with EuroMillions, there’s a lot more to choosing your digits than you might think.
Expert analysis has revealed what to do – and what to avoid – when it comes to choosing your seven spells.
Here are 9 clever ways to increase your chances of becoming richer by a staggering £110m.
1. Not prioritizing special days
It is quite common to choose birthdays and anniversaries when choosing a Lottery number.
But it may not be wise to do so as it severely limits your options.
If you’re relying on special dates, you’ll never pick a number higher than 31, so you’re ruling out 19 possibilities.
Don’t be afraid to explore your options between 32 and 50.
2. Bundle of your options
It can be tempting to try to spread your numbers evenly across your ticket – some lower, some higher, and some in between.
But drawings rarely go like this – plus that’s what most people do.
For a better chance of winning, look for numbers that are closer together.
For example, instead of choosing 3, 7, 14, 19 and 26, you can choose 9, 10, 12, 13 and 14.
3. Keep things in balance
In addition to keeping your digits closer together, experts recommend keeping them balanced.
They recommend adding them up once you’ve made your selection to make sure the total is between 90 and 160.
This is because the numbers between the two make up almost three-quarters of the five successful EuroMillions sets.
4. Avoid repetition
Another top tip is to make sure you always pick numbers that weren’t drawn last week.
While it may seem like 3 is a lucky number, just because it appeared in a previous draw, doesn’t mean it will happen again next time.
5. Odds and amount
According to expert analysis, all lines are odd and all even numbers are drawn less than 3% of the time.
Therefore, it is recommended to have a relatively even split.
Since there are seven spaces to fill, this means it’s best to choose three odd and two even, or two odd and three even.
Either of these patterns will occur in 68% of EuroMillions draws.
6. Shrink the last digits
Similar to odds and odds, it’s good to mix things up when it comes to the second digit of your numbers.
Even if seven might be your lucky number, think twice about choosing 7, 17, 27, 37 and 47.
Nearly 90% of draws have no more than one last digit repeated.
And your chances of winning with the last four digits fall below two tenths of one percent.
7. Skip a pack out of ten
Bettors who want to win the lottery may think that picking a number from each of the 10s – 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s – will benefit them.
And with seven numbers available and 50 numbers to choose from, you can expect one from every number that comes up – but this is actually relatively rare.
For example, the winning numbers for November 26 are 1, 20, 41, 42, 50, 3 and 7.
As you can see, there are no numbers for teens or 30s.
So when assembling your list, mix unevenly and don’t include at least one set of numbers.
8. Club together
While that means you’ll have to share your winnings, accumulating luck increases your chances of winning some cash.
Same goes for buying multiple tickets yourself – but this way you only pay for one ticket.
So gather your friends, family and colleagues and your club together – but don’t forget to pick different numbers!
9. Lottery Organizations
The ultimate way to increase your chances of winning big with EuroMillions is to join a lottery.
This is a group of people playing the lottery together, with an agreement that they will split the winnings.
There are hundreds of games out there, but they all let players in every week.
These people or companies will arrange everything for you to make sure you get the best shot.
Contracts are perfectly legal and can be a great way to share prizes.
