Carrey plays a businessman whose life is thrown into turmoil when the titular birds show up on his doorstep. The film was a box office hit, grossing $187 million worldwide.
Mr. Popper’s penguins could not break new ground for either the genre or Carrey’s career. But it’s a sweet family film with a lot of heart, a solid message and strong performances across the board.
