As Chicago Bears starting to prepare for the free agency start in March, one position that will definitely be prioritized for the team will be the wide receiver position.

The Bears targeted a wide-collection position last season and put an emphasis on speed when they signed the likes of Marquise Goodwin and Damiere Byrd. Neither Goodwin nor Byrd play a major role in the Bears’ offense in 2021, and it looks like both wide receivers will play elsewhere next season.

The question mark for the Bears in the wide receiver position remains Allen Robinson. Instead of offering Robinson a long-term contract at the end of last season, the Bears opted to apply the $18 million franchise tag to the veteran wide-collector. Over the course of this past season, Robinson’s relationship with the Bears appears to have deteriorated and the expectation is that he will not return to the first team when free agency begins in March.

Part of the hope the Bears might have in re-signing Robinson is the idea that the team have a new general manager in place of Ryan Poles and a new head coach in place of Matt Eberflus. It’s possible that Eberflus and Poles can convince Robinson that the Bears are getting into a clean vehicle with a mode change.

The Chicago Bears will need to venture into a wide-earning position this season if they are to help quarterback Justin Fields.

If Robinson doesn’t return to the Bears in 2022, that makes Darnell Mooney the only certainty in a wide recording position for the Bears. With that being said, the Bears will have to venture into a broad receiver position in free agency and have three goals in particular that could be of interest to the team. 3 widely recognized risk free agents that the Chicago Bears should sign
