The university sent out a follow-up tweet around 2pm saying that police had arrested a suspect after searching the campus but that students should continue to shelter in place.
A news photographer captured the apparent suspect in custody, lying face down on the ground as more than half a dozen law enforcement officers drew guns closer. The university has fully informed about 4:30 pm
It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting. No other injuries have been reported.
