RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — An apartment fire that broke out just before 9 p.m. Wednesday has sent two to the hospital and an active scene remains a little over two hours later.

The fire was in northeast Raleigh at The Oaks apartment complex at Block 3900 of Water Oak Drive, just off N. New Hope Road.

As of 11:00 p.m., N. New Hope Road was closed in the area. Firefighters at the scene could not confirm the number of people displaced and affected by the blaze.

Raleigh Police say the local Red Cross is helping. Once the fire is tamed, officials say more information will be released.
