2 men arrested, accused of hacking into Virginia Beach gas station and selling gas at discounted prices

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Police arrested two men in Virginia Beach, alleging they hacked into gas pumps and sold them at a discount.
According to the Virginia Beach Police Department, officers called the Citgo gas station on Block 1400 of North Great Neck Road on June 14 to report suspicious activity.
The gas station was closed at that time.
Officers later learned that devices were being used to “illegally access gas pumps.” The gas was then sold at a discounted price through a phone application and promoted on social media.
Police have not confirmed the exact amount of gasoline stolen, but have found that “thousands of dollars” in gasoline were stolen from the store over several days.
