12-year-old British boy becomes first man in Britain to BACKFLIP in a wheelchair

A 12-year-old boy takes off to become the first British man to backflip in a wheelchair.
Ben Sleet, who suffers from spina bifida, was introduced to wheelchair motorcross (WCMX) at a skateboard jam event at the age of eight.
After just a few months of practice, the brave boy just “tested it out” and landed a backflip at the skate park.
He’s the youngest Brit ever – and the first UK man – to pull off this impressive stunt.
Ben, from Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, said: “I was shocked at first and then excited – it wasn’t really scary.
“I didn’t know I was going to do it, I just decided I’m going to try.

“I had some friends there and they loved me – I’ve wanted to do it for about a year.
“You need a lot of speed to roll over – start pretty high and go over the edge and push down.
Now he is looking for a sponsorship that will help him take the sport to the next level.
Mum Angela Sleet, 46, said: “We just want to publicize what he’s doing and get more support – there’s a competition in Germany in July and we’d really like to go.”
